Helmi Gimmick is generally acknowledged to be Malaysia’s premier Stage Act Comedian. For the past decade, he has performed “live” at hundreds of shows and entertained thousands of Malaysians and foreigners with his unique and original material. His comedy performance is in great demand and any company function is never complete without Helmi inevitably bringing the house down during his almost hour-long performances.
In a nutshell, although the name Helmi Gimmick may not necessarily be a household name (at least, not yet), thousands, if not millions, have seen his performances and have more often then not, commended his talent as a stage performer extraordinaire.

Nevertheless, his greatest pleasure is still adrenaline rush and excitement when he walks on stage amidst thundering applause, as he thrills and enlivens thousands and memorable, spectacular events. The audience is greeted with “Hello everyone, my name is Helmi Gimmick”, and the rest is pure enchantment.
Born in 1961 at Kg. Dato Keramat, Kuala Lumpur, Helmi’s appearance in the Malaysian music scene started as a club performer in Klang Valley. He was very well-known in club performance since the late 80’s and has perform frequently in big clubs in Malaysia.
Helmi Gimmick is the man with many talents: stage and scene actor, comedian, singer, and presenter. He’s favor the comedian is the well-known Mr. Bean for his versatility and spontaneous. As a singer and live performer, Helmi’s on-stage persona is always bursting with his own inimitable style and raw energy. Together with this, Helmi presents his own flavor of traditional, oldies, R&B, jazz, and funk, high on energy and performance power. His debut album “Tongkat Ali” was released in late 2000.
Also a stand-up comedian and improvisational comedic actor per excellence, Helmi has performed numerous solo stand up shows on stage and along with an elite team of local stage and screen actors, he has also regularly performs Malaysia’s on live stage version.
Helmi’s few first jobs that came through television, was appearing as the host for the game show called “Family Ceria” at NTV7 and he is currently one of the star in Astro programme in the first season of “Raja Lawak Astro”. He’s also the Deejay for NEGRI FM under the flagship of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).
Helmi made his big screen debut in 1999 Romantic Comedy film “Cinderella” with Yusri KRU and also acted in the sequel of the movie “Cinderella 2″. He’s also appeared in the blockbuster movie “Cicakman” also with Yusri KRU and Malaysian latest teen queen; Fasha Sanda.
Under the new vision of his management company, Helmi Gimmick currently negotiating with few corporate clientele in Malaysia in developing new concept of Broadcast entertainment, thus this will embark a new milestone into his future career in the industry scene not only locally but also internationally.
